A Long-Standing Passion

I've been in love with photography since high school. I started mainly just shooting landscapes and taking my camera with me where I went, but that evolved into something more as I've gotten older. All that I've learned about photography is self-taught, but my understanding of composition is fairly well-established. Prior to my nursing career I was a classical archaeologist: I spent years studying art history and the way that we as people convey and communicate relationships through imagery. I think that this tends to show in my photography. I don't try to capture just candids: I try to capture the feeling of being in a space with the ones we care about, and my hope is to translate all this knowledge about people into my art.

My goal with this site is to have a space where you can explore my work as it grows and get a sense of what my style is like. I understand that booking a shoot is an investment - I want you to feel good about your investment by the time you schedule an appointment.
